With the AFC tour wrapped up I will now move into the NFC side of things. The Next division I am going to dive into on our divisional tour is the most competitive division in the league in my opinion the NFC South. A reminder the purpose of this article is to list the five best fantasy options on each team based on my standard 12 team PPR projections. A side note I list teams in the order as I see them finishing this year in their division. So, let’s start with the NFC South champions this season.
New Orleans Saints
Alvin Kamara (RB)- No more Ingram and an offense leaning more towards the run I have Kamara projected for a massive 325 fantasy points this season. Ill run for 8 touchdowns while running for 840 yards. He will catch 87 balls for 670 more yards and 4 more scores.
Michael Thomas (WR)- Drew’s favorite target will be second highest scorer on team with a projected 310 fantasy points. I see Thomas catching 115 balls for 1,390 yards and 9 touchdowns.
Drew Brees (QB) – The old vet comes in next on my list with a projected 294 fantasy points for the Saints. I see Brees throwing 30 touchdowns and gaining 4,460 yards through the air.
Jared Cook (TE)- Cook will be Brees second favorite target behind Thomas and I project 160 fantasy points this season. He will catch 59 balls for 770 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Latavius Murray (RB)- Ingram’s replacement should find similar success this season netting a projected 139 fantasy points. I see him rushing for 620 yards and 5 touchdowns. He will also catch 24 passes for an additional 170 yards and score.
Julio Jones (WR)- Julio will lead his team in fantasy points this season netting a projected 302 fantasy points. I have him slated for 102 catches for 1,526 yards and 8 touchdowns.
Matt Ryan (QB)- Matty Ice comes in next with his projected 298 fantasy points for the year. I have him projected for 4,450 yards and 29 touchdowns. He will also rush for 126 yards and 2 more touchdowns.
Devonta Freeman (RB)- The violence returns this season to the tune of 204 projected fantasy points. I have Freeman rushing for 798 yards d 6 touchdowns. He will also catch 45 for 315 more yards and 2 additional touchdowns.
Calvin Ridley (WR)- The number two receiver for Ryan this year projects to score 187 fantasy points. I have him securing 67 balls for 790 yards and 6 touchdowns.
Austin Hooper (TE)- The young tight end will continue to trend upwards with a projected 143 fantasy points this season. I have him with 67 catches for 790 yards and 6 touchdowns.
Christian McCaffrey (RB)- Run CMC will lead this team in fantasy points when the dust settles with a projected 305 fantasy points. I have him rushing for 802 yards and 5 touchdowns. He will also catch 97 balls this year for another 790 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Cam Newton (QB)- Cam is the next highest projected scorer for his squad with 289 fantasy points. I forecast Cam to throw for 3,480 yards and 21 touchdowns. He will also rush for an additional 516 yards and 4 scores.
DJ Moore (WR)- I have another breakout type feeling with Moore who partially broke out last year. I have him projected to score 204 fantasy points this season. I have him catching 71 for 900 yards and 5 touchdowns.
Curtis Samuel (WR)- Preseason stud and camp darling Curtis is projected to score 159 fantasy points this season. I have him securing 54 catches for 670 yards and 5 scores. Norv will look to utilize his swiss army knife like skills all year.
Greg Olsen (TE)- Is this the end for Greg I feel like it may be so he will go out productive with his 124 fantasy points. I have Greg catching 43 for 565 yards and scoring 4 touchdowns.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Jameis Winston (QB)- This is the make it or breakout year for him and I project a lot of games trailing so he will accumulate 285 fantasy points to lead the team. I have him throwing for 4,300 yards and 24 touchdowns, while adding two score and 270 yards with legs.
Mike Evans (WR)- I project him to be the next highest scorer on team with 262 fantasy points. I have Evans going for 1,330 yards off 83 grabs capping it off with 7 touchdowns.
Chris Godwin (WR)- Breakout alert this is the guy to get in your leagues I am very high on Godwin and forecast him netting 210 fantasy points from the slot this season. I have him catching 75 balls for 1,050 yards and 5 touchdowns.
OJ Howard (TE)- Another high upside guy on my target list this season I have Howard projected for 168 fantasy points. I can see him catching 56 balls for 550 yards and 5 touchdowns.
Peyton Barber (RB)- This backfield screams eeww but I project Barber to be the better back projecting him with 115 fantasy points. He should run for close to 550 yards and three touchdowns. He will also chip in with 24 catches for another 150 yards and score.
