Is the End Near?
Its been reported that the Buffalo Bills likely will not bring back veteran running back Frank Gore. Gore now 36 years old has enjoyed a nice long 15 year NFL career at a position that is the toughest in terms of longevity. Gore ranks 3rd all time in rush yards sitting just behind Emmitt Smith and Walter Payton. If another team does not have a need for a veteran presence in the locker room it is likely Gore will finally hang up the cleats and end his NFL career. The move from Buffalo opens up the door fully for second year runner Devin Singeltary who absolutely looked the part last season leading that backfield.
Fangio Gets his DB
It was reported yesterday that the Denver Broncos are set to acquire DB Aj Bouye from the Jacksonville Jaguars for a 2020 4th round pick. Fangio had significant interest in the back in 2017 and tried to get him in Chicago. This move is absolutely in regards to Chris Harris Jr. who is set to leave the club via free agency this off season. Harris had his worst year as a pro last season in Fangio's complex defensive scheme. Bouye is seen as a good fit for the scheme where they can move him all over the field. This move could actually make that Denver defense better in 2020.
Cards Eyeing Top Prospects
Both GM Steve Keim and head coach Kliff Kingsbury have said that the Cardinals are missing and need an outside receiver who has the ability to take the top of a defense. Kliff went on to add that he loves the trio of Lamb, Jeudy, and Ruggs and would welcome one of them at pick 8. Lamb would be the one likely to head to the desert as he played ball at Oklahoma with quarterback Kyler Murray. Murray has been selling Lamb to the organization as a threat who can be lined up all over the formation. Jeudy is a polished route runner who can make big plays at any time, and Ruggs is that speedster who can run past any defender. Though many mocks have a OT going to the Cardinals at eight we shouldn't be surprised if the first receiver taken this spring in the draft goes to the Cardinals at eight.
Jags Want Foles Gone
Reports out of Duval County is that the Jaguars are interested in trading Nick Foles just one year after they signed him to a 88 million dollar contract last off season. Though no teams have inquired about acquiring Foles they remain hopeful to move on from that large contract. The Jaguars seem content rolling with Gardner Minshew in 2020 or perhaps a rookie who they could select with their first round pick. Ideal or likely landing spots for Foles would be Indy or Chicago.
Brady to SF a real Thing?
Reports out of Boston have surfaced linking the goat to the bay area. It is being said that the 49ers have significant interest in acquiring the future hall of famer. It would be hard to believe this to be true as Jimmy G is 14 years younger and coming off a successful season which saw the team just fingertips away from a world title. The belief is there is only two front runners likely to land Brady and that is the Patriots and the Titans.
Jacobs Phase Two
Mike Mayock has gone on record to say the organization is very pleased with what Josh Jacobs did as a rookie. Mayock said 2020 will be phase two of his evolution as he will be featured more in the passing attack. Jalen Richard typically ate all those targets and has been resigned by Vegas which could eat into the production again this season. However, if what Mayock is saying is true Jacobs draft stock will move up the rankings very quickly this fall.
