Second Quarter Report!!!

Updated: Jan 2

As quick as the first quarter seemed to come to an end, the second quarter came and went even faster. With week eight coming to an end last night we are now half way through the second season of the Elite Fantasy Football League. Halfway also means we are officially entering crunch time for our teams, as the third quarter will have most of our playoff seedings set when we come out of it in four weeks. However lets not get ahead of ourselves as we have a exciting second quarter to recap which saw many things happen. For example we saw a record tied as well as one shattered. We also saw the beginnings of a entertaining weekly show entitled the Elite Funhouse created by My Ditka which we can look forward too each and every week leading into game day. The Elite Funhouse can now be found on YouTube, just search The Elite Funhouse to watch all the epsidodes. Now lets start by taking a look at which team came in as the best team of the second quarter.

Little Italy (6-2)

Little Italy comes out of the second quarter sitting alone a top the South division with an overall record of 3-1 and 1-1 divisional record, through the second quarter. Little Italy finished in the top three of weekly scoring two out of four weeks. Little Italy took on Brown-Eye (2-6), The Annexation (3-5), My Ditka (3-5), and a second meeting with the SlamHogs (4-4), completing the sweep against them. Currently Little Italy sits at first in rest of season power rankings with a 99.9% chance of making the playoffs. Now Italy has an overall record of 6-2, while going 4-1 in the division. Italy will look to clinch a playoff berth early in the third quarter as they take on Richard Feltersnatch (3-5), The Brown-Eye (2-6), Cocoa Nuts ( 5-3), and The Ballsackies (6-2). Little Italy improved their position in the standings as they went from second at the end of the first quarter to sitting atop the standings in first at the end of quarter two.

SlamHogs (4-4)

The Hogs find themselves finishing the second quarter with a 3-1 overall record while going 2-1 inside the division. The Hogs are now sitting at second in the South standings. They finished in the bottom three of weekly scoring three times despite finishing so well. The hogs took on Dirty Sanchez (3-5), The Brown-Eye (2-6), The Annexation (3-5), and Little Italy (6-2) during this four week period. The Hogs are now sitting at a (4-4) record while going 3-2 in division action on the season. The Hogs will take on My Ditka (3-5), Dirty Sanchez (3-5), The Ballsackies (6-2), and The Brown-Eye (2-6) as they try to lock in a playoff berth for the second year in a row. The Hogs currently sit at eighth in rest of season power rankings with a 65% chance of making the post season. Last quarter the Hogs were sitting at 8th in the standings but now sit at 5th.

The Dirty Sanchez Butt-Fumblers (3-5)

Dirty Sanchez sits at sixth in the standings exactly where they were at the end of last quarter. Sanchez was struggling after going 1-3 last quarter so made numerous trades to help squad stop the bleeding and appears to have done just that going 2-2 in the quarter overall and while also going 1-1 in division play. The highlight of this quarter for Dirty was ending the Ballsackies bid at breaking the win streak record as well as undefeated season. Dirty took on the SlamHogs (4-4), Richard Feltersnatch (3-5), Harry Ballsackies (6-2), and Cocoa Nuts (5-3) during this period. Dirty also had two top three finishes this quarter. Dirty will look to hold steady in the top six as he tries to make the post season for the second year in a row. Dirty will take on Brown-Eye (2-6), SlamHogs (4-4), Beavers (5-3), and Feltersnatch (3-5) this next quarter. Dirty currently sits at ninth in rest of season power rankings while holding a 36% chance at making the playoffs.

Richard Feltersnatch (3-5)

Feltersnatch went 2-2 this quarter while going 1-1 in division play. Feltersnatch also netted two top three weekly finishes, which came in the last two weeks. Feltersnatch finds themselves just outside the top sixth in seventh for the second quarter in a row. Richard took on Harry Ballsackies (6-2), Dirty Sanchez (3-5), Cocoa Nuts (5-3), and a second meeting with The Brown-Eye (2-6) during this period. It appears Richard has weathered the injury bug and is now back to full strength at just the right time of the season as they try to make it back into the post season. Next quarter Feltersnatch will take on Little Italy (6-2), Beavers (5-3), The Annexation (3-5), and Dirty Sanchez (3-5). Richard currently sits at fifth in our rest of season power rankings with a 40% chance of making the playoffs.

Lick My Antonio Brown-Eye (2-6)

Things were looking up for the Brown-Eye at the end of the first quarter as they finally got a win ending their historic losing streak. They met a top team in Italy in the opening game to the second quarter and completely pounded them into the ground on their way to the league record for most points in a week. Then they have not won another came since. They finish the quarter with a 1-3 record going 1-2 in the division. They now find themselves in the basement which is one spot in the standings worse then last quarters ninth place spot. The Brown-Eye took on Little Italy (6-2), SlamHogs (4-4), The Beavers (5-3), and Richard Feltersnatch (3-5), which was no easy task. The Brown-Eye did have two top three scoring weeks during this span. The Brown-Eye will look to get out of the basement and into playoff contention when they take on Dirty (3-5), Little Italy (6-2), My Ditka (3-5), and the SlamHogs (4-4) in third quarter action. Brown-Eye currently sits at third in rest of season rankings with a 40% chance at making the playoffs.

Harry Ballsackies (6-2)

The number one ranked team coming out of the first quarter took a slight step back this quarter going 2-2 overall and 1-1 in division play. The Ballsackies only had one top 3 weekly finish through this four week span. The Ballsackies took on Feltersnatch (3-5), My Ditka (3-5), Dirty Sanchez (3-5), and Beavers Love Wood (5-3) during this quarter. The Ballsackies now sit a 6-2 overall record while going 4-1 in the division. The Ballsackies were sitting at first in the standings at the end of the first quarter but now find themselves in second in the standings. The Ballsackies will look to finish the regular season strong as they must work through the toughest third quarter schedule as they meet Cocoa Nuts (5-3), The Annexation (3-5), The SlamHogs (4-4), and Little Italy (6-2). The Ballsackies are fourth in rest of season power rankings with a 96% chance at the post season.

Beavers Love Wood (5-3)

The Beavers had a much better second quarter then first going 3-1 overall and 2-1 in division play. They finished in the top 3 of weekly scoring two out of four weeks. The BLW sits at second in the North standings after taking on My Ditka (3-5), Cocoa Nuts (5-3), Brown-Eye (2-6), and Ballsackies (6-2). This brings them to an overall record of 5-3 and division record of 2-3, which is good enough to put them in third place in the standings, which is two spots better then their fifth place standings finish after first quarter. The BLW will look to lock up a playoff spot next quarter when they take on The Annexation (3-5), Feltersnatch (3-5), Dirty Sanchez (3-5), and My Ditka (3-5). The Beavers are sitting at second in rest of season power rankings with a 97% chance of making the playoffs in their first year in the league.

Cocoa Nuts (5-3)

Cocoa Nuts finished the second quarter with a 2-2 overall record while going 1-1 in the North Division. The defending champ took on Annexation (3-5), Beavers Love Wood (5-3), Richard Feltersnatch (3-5), and Dirty Sanchez (3-5) through this four week period. The champ now sits fourth in the standings for the second straight quarter with a 5-3 overall record while going 2-2 in the division. The champ will look to make his bid at a repeat continue during the third quarter as they take on the Ballsackies (6-2), My Ditka (3-5), Little Italy (6-2), and the Annexation (3-5) in what is projected as the second toughest third quarter schedule. Cocoa Nuts sit at seventh in rest of season power rankings with a 80% chance of making the post season.

The Annexation of Puerto Rico (3-5)

After going an impressive 3-1 in the last quarter which had them sitting third in the standings the Annexation has fallen apart. Injuries have riddled this squad as they have now dropped the last five games in a row, which means they went 0-4 in the quarter with a 0-2 division record. The AOPR met Cocoa Nuts (5-3), Little Italy (6-2), SlamHogs (4-4), and My Ditka (3-5) during this time which now has them sitting at 8th in the standings with a 3-5 overall record going 2-3 in the division. If the Annexation wants to save their season they will have to work the wire as well as try to make some trades as they are slated to face the Beavers (5-3), Ballsackies (6-2), Feltersnatch (3-5), and Cocoa Nuts (5-3) in the third quarter. Currently the Annexation sits at last in the rest of season power rankings with a 7% chance of making the playoffs. The Annexation appears to have all the cards in place to become the next Miss Elite.

My Ditka Got Your Gurley Off (3-5)

My Ditka had a very emotional ride over the last four weeks in which they should have finished 4-0 in the quarter, but through some questionable line up calls finished with a 2-2 overall record while going 2-1 in the division. This however is an improvement from their 1-3 first quarter finish that had them in tenth place. The quarter saw My Ditka take on the Beavers (5-3), Harry Ballsackies (6-2), Little Italy (6-2), and The Annexation (3-5), which was by far the toughest second quarter schedule. The fact that My Ditka should have won all these meetings bodes well for their rest of season which should improve his now ninth place position in the standings with a 3-5 overall record while having a 2-3 division record. My Ditka's bright spot was a week seven meeting against Little Italy where his famous Elite Funhouse was created. It will be interesting to see what the third quarter has in store for My Ditka as they are set to take on the SlamHogs (4-4), Cocoa Nuts (5-3), Brown-Eye (2-6), and The Beavers (5-3). Currently My Ditka sits at sixth place in the rest of season power rankings with a 42% chance at post season glory for the first time in the teams history.
